2015 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is seen as a perfect combination of elegance and capability and what’s even better is that the 2015 Evoque luxurious SUV is expected to come at a much affordable price-a relief to its buyers al around the world.
At the 2014-Geneva motor show, the Land Rover spokesperson announced some of the latest upgrades to the 2015 Evoque. These upgrades are meant to keep this model appealing for a longer period of time.
Land Rover announced the new In-control connectivity functions that are compatible with both Apple and Android Smart phones. In addition to pairing with the Smart phones to its system using the Bluetooth connectivity, In-control apps shall also be able to provide access to popular mobile apps on the Evoque’s touch screen infotainment system. At launch these apps will support diverse applications including thought not restricted to iHeartRadio, parkopedia, Glympse, Winston and lastly the Cityseeker.

The 2015 Evoque will be offered with just two doors for its convertible option, while the hard roof/top will be available on both 2-doors and 4-doors. The 2015 Evoque (convertible) features; the electric powered fabric-top which folds below the Evoques’ waistline for a clear top-down look.
The roll over and fabric top protection mechanisms take up cabin space and this limits this version for only 2 rear passengers. Land Rover said that the 2015 Evoque convertible will not gain any significant weight penalty, but it will need 165lb of structural reinforcement.
It will be finished with unique styling details, have the larger 20inch wheels and to its interior its seats will be upholstered in premium perforated leather and shall have the electric heating feature, ventilation and the “Autobiography” imprinted on the head restraints.
The 215 Evoque shall be equipped with a 2.0l 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that will be mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission similar to the previous models of the Evoque and will be able to generate up to 240hp.
Under the hood the Evoque autobiography model if fitted with a revised version of the standard Powertrain, which is tuned to produce over 285hp and 295lb-ft of torque and increase of 45hp and 44lb-ft under standard engine tuning.
In addition to the model’s powerful engine, the autobiography also comes with a revised 9-speed automatic transmission, modified steering, larger brakes, sportier suspension tuning, standard torque-vector technology as part of its active Driveline-all-wheel-drive system.
These mechanical modifications result in a quicker and easy acceleration to to 60mph in a less than 5 seconds with the autobiography giving a 6.7 seconds result. The Evoques’ speed is also set to increase from 135mph to 140mph.
Price and release date
The Land Rover showcased the Evoque first in 2012 at the Geneva motor show. It suggests a price premium of about 10-15% over the hard top. The convertible is set to start selling at a base price of $48,000 while the hard top’s price is not yet confirmed. Both versions of the 2015 Evoque are set to be released at the end of the second half of 2014.
